Grant Program Overview
Ferret Buckeye Bash (FBB), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is proud to launch The Ferret Buckeye Bash Shelter Assistance Grant and Award (SAGA), a charitable grant program designed to provide direct financial assistance to ferret specific shelters and rescue organizations in need.
This program reflects The Ferret Buckeye Bash’s long‑standing commitment to ferret welfare, rescue, education, and community support. The grants are intended to help shelters meet essential needs, respond to unexpected challenges, and continue providing compassionate, high‑quality care for ferrets.
Pilot Program Funding
Total Grant Budget (Pilot Year): $2,000
Number of Grants: Up to four (4)
Maximum Grant Amount: $500 per organization
Grant awards may be less than $500 depending on demonstrated need, number of applicants, and available funds.
Intended Use of Funds
Grant funds may be used for essential shelter‑related expenses, including but not limited to: - Veterinary and emergency medical care - Food, bedding, and enrichment supplies - Shelter equipment or facility needs directly benefiting ferrets - Intake, quarantine, or foster‑related expenses - Other critical operational costs tied directly to ferret welfare
Funds may not be used for unrelated personal expenses or non‑shelter compensation.
Program Growth
The Buckeye Ferret Bash Shelter Assistance and Award program is designed as a scalable program. As donor support, sponsorships, and fundraising grow, Ferret Buckeye Bash intends to increase the total grant budget and expand the number and size of grants awarded. Any donations such as Kroger's Community Rewards or individual donations are welcomed and will be specifly designed to the Shelter Assistance and Award program.

Reporting
Grant recipients may be asked to provide a brief post‑grant summary describing how funds were used. Reporting will be intentionally simple to avoid burdening volunteer‑run organizations.
